The purpose
of the Iroquois County Early Intervention Program is to
furnish each child with a
For a child to be eligible for the Iroquois County Early Intervention Program one of the following criteria must be met:
1. A specific medical condition resulting in a high probability of developmental delay. These medical conditions must be diagnosed by a physician.
2. A significant (30% or more) delay in one area of development as determined by a formal evaluation.
3.
An informed clinical
opinion either by one (1) doctor, or by therapist from
two (2) different disciplines (Speech Therapist,
Occupational Therapist,
4. “At Risk” of having a substantial developmental delay due to:
a. Child’s parent is diagnosed with Developmental Disability b. Child’s parent is diagnosed with severe emotional disturbance c. Child has three of four risk factors: i. Mother currently abuses alcohol or other substance ii. Mother is currently under 15 iii. Child and family are homeless iv. Child is diagnosed with relationship or attachment disorder
Developmental
Therapy is provided during home visits.
